Oscos-eo Destinations
San Martín de Oscos
San Martín de Oscos is a village that strongly preserves its rural identity, where extensive livestock farming continues to play a key role both in the economy and in everyday life. Its centre is home to valuable examples of heritage such as the parish church of San Martín, with a Latin cross floor plan and inscribed in 1828, and the stately 18th century manor house of the Guzmanes.
In the surrounding villages, visitors can discover the imposing Baroque-style Palacio de Mon, the Museo de la Casa Campesina in Villarquille, which shows the traditional life of the local peasantry, or the Castro de San Isidro, testimony to the pre-Roman past of the area. You can also visit old mines, witnesses to the exploitation of the natural resources that once boosted the local economy. San Martín de Oscos is, as a whole, a destination where landscape, history and traditions intertwine, offering the traveller authenticity, calm and a deep connection with the natural environment.
