Os Ferreiros Route PR-AS 18
The route leaves Taramundi from the Plaza del Poyo along a promenade next to the Vegadeo road to Veiga de Llan where we can visit two cutlery workshops. From here, following the course of the river Cabreira, we arrive at Mazonovo, which is entered through the Museo de los Molinos, where mills of different periods and origins are reproduced.
After the bridge over the River Turia, take a path on the right that runs parallel to the river, where you will find an abundance of
chestnut trees, oaks, birch trees, ash trees, etc. After crossing another bridge over the same river, we move to the right bank of the river until we reach Veiga da Zarza, a village where there are interesting examples of popular architecture as well as a mill in the vicinity of the recreational area. The route continues northwards along an ascending path through Vilanova and into a thick chestnut forest where, years ago, large quantities of chestnuts were collected for food for people and animals. Once in Pardiñas we can make a stop to visit the
house-museum of traditional cutlery, where we can also see a demonstration of forging. Following the asphalt we reach our starting point, Taramundi.
