Ruta Piorno a los Fornos SL-AS 13
Route between villages and nature, from Piorno to the Sierra de la Bobia.
The route begins in the picturesque village of Piorno, which preserves excellent examples of the traditional architecture of the Oscos, with stone, slate and wood buildings.
From the path, on the other side of the valley, you can see several villages: Arne, Arruñada, Villanueva de San Cristóbal and, further on, the Sierra de la Bobia. Along the route, you can also see cortines, circular stone structures that protect the beehives from wild fauna.
The landscape is surprising for its variety of forms, from abrupt to gentle, accompanied by the murmur of the river Soutelo, birdsong, native vegetation - such as ferns, chestnut and oak trees - and a rich fauna made up of roe deer, wild boar, foxes, goshawks and partridges.
