Santalla/Santa Eulalia de Oscos

Santalla/Santa Eulalia de Oscos

A living village where craft and artistic tradition and nature go hand in hand.

Santa Eulalia de Oscos, capital of the council, is a town that strongly maintains its rural and artisan identity. The traditional stone and slate architecture coexists with a community that is still alive thanks to its respect for traditional trades, such as cutlery, blacksmithing and weaving, whose craftsmanship can still be discovered in local workshops and museums. The sculptures forged during the ferreiros meetings - true works of art in the open air - dot the urban landscape and bear witness to the creative and community spirit that defines Santa Eulalia. Added to all this is the legacy of the Marquis of Sargadelos, a key figure of the Enlightenment, whose birthplace can be visited. Surrounded by lush forests and hiking trails, Santa Eulalia is a destination that combines nature, popular art and a community that keeps its roots alive.
