Mural If Walls Could Talk
In the heart of the port of Castropol stands Si las paredes hablaran, a large-format mural that not only enriches the urban landscape, but also conveys a powerful social message. The work, created by the veigueña artist Ana Fernández, is presented as a visual plea against gender violence and reflects the strength of women to break with traditional stereotypes.
With more than 100 hours of artistic work, this mural has become a point of interest for those who visit Castropol, not only for its aesthetic value, but also for its capacity to move and make people reflect. It is part of an initiative promoted during a series of awareness-raising days held in the council, which found its most symbolic expression in this piece.
Castropol thus adds a new cultural attraction to its heritage, demonstrating that urban art also has its own voice in the defence of human rights.
