Cultural Heritage
Figueras
Figueras is a charming seaside town, located where the Eo estuary opens out into the Bay of Biscay. Its history, always linked to the sea, can be breathed in every corner: from the traditional port to the old shipwrights' workshops that still conserve the knowledge of centuries.
A stroll through its streets reveals outstanding examples of its heritage, such as the stately Palacio de Trenor or the unique Palacio Peñalba, known as "Gaudí's palace" for its modernist style. A few steps away, the church of San Francisco, the towers of Donlebún and the tidal mill of As Acías complete the tour of a town that surprises with its character and beauty.
Figueras also offers the possibility of exploring the estuary on foot or by boat, enjoying the views and discovering its valuable natural environment, always in contact with the water and the seafaring tradition.
